Privacy Policy

Effective October 31, 2026

BASED Commander is a base building game for kids 9 and up, available on this website and as an app for iPhone and iPad. We built it so it does not need to know anything about you. This policy explains what that means.

The short version

We do not collect personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and we never ask for an email address, location, contacts, photos or anything else about you.
There are no ads, no analytics, no trackers and no third-party services or software kits in the game or the app.
Your game is saved only on your own device. We cannot see it.
There are no in-app purchases. The money in the game is pretend.

What the game keeps on your device

The game saves your progress (your base, crew, items and settings) and the Commander name you type. The game shows this summary too, under Settings, then PRIVACY AND HELP. On the website it is kept in your browser's storage; in the app it is kept in the app's own storage. It stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.

Save codes

If you choose to make a save code (Settings, then SAVE CODE), the code contains your base, including your Commander name. It only goes wherever you paste or send it yourself. Loading a code on another device is how you move a base.

This website

basedcommander.com is hosted by our web hosting provider, Spaceship. Like nearly every website, the hosting server automatically keeps standard technical logs, such as the IP address, browser type, page requested and time, to keep the site secure and running. We do not use these logs to identify anyone, we do not combine them with any other information, and we do not use them for advertising. The website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies.

The iPhone and iPad app

The whole game is built into the app and runs offline. The app does not collect data, does not send anything to us, and contains no third-party software kits. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may give us anonymous statistics such as download counts and crash reports through App Store Connect; these do not identify you.

Children

Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, we do not collect personal information from children. There is nothing for us to share, sell or delete. Parents are always welcome to contact us with questions.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app, or clearing the site data for basedcommander.com in your browser settings, removes everything the game saved on that device. (START A NEW BASE in the game's Settings starts fresh but keeps older bases on the device under their Commander names, so you can come back to them.)

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
